Texture Project
Texture Project
This project was about making an image with different textures. The picture shown here is an outdoor sunny and cloudy fall day. Here's what I used in the project: First I splattered some blue paint for the background, then I took a white paper, rubbed a colored pencil across the paper on a tree, got some leafs to represent fall, some cotton balls for clouds, and finally a crumpled yellow paper for the sun.
Negative and Positive Space
Negative and Positive Space
This project was about having negative and positive space. What I did was I took four colored papers, two small black square paper, and a blue and green large colored paper. I put the black square in the middle the outlined the areas of the square I was going to cut out. Finally I put the cutout pieces in the opposite directions and glued them and the remaining black paper on the middle of the papers. The black represents positive space and the blue and green paper represent the negative space.
CTE Month Poster
CTE Poster
This project was to make a poster for CTE Month. CTE Month is a nationwide awareness event recognizing the positive impacts and opportunities for career exploration and career development that career and technical education (CTE) provides students across the country . CTE month also celebrates CTE educators, CTE students and business and community groups that are engaged with their local CTE Programs. I started with creating five drawings of different career jobs, then got them scanned and put onto the computer where I edited together an original poster and made it my own. Starting from the left are the career choices I've made for this: 1. Fireman (showing a person in fireman uniform using a hose). 2. Teacher (showing a woman with a chalk in her hand). 3. Engineer (showing a man in overalls with a tool belt, safety knee pads, a safety glove, safety hat, safety googles, and holding a wench). 4. Doctor (Showing a middle-aged man wearing a lab coat with a stethoscope around his neck). 5. Accountant (showing a person with a checkbook, an adding machine and has a pencil setting on his ear).

Sun & Moon Project
This is my Sun/Moon Project. The left image is a Blazing Sun which I made by outlining the picture then cutting out the outlined paper pieces then laying it on a thick cardboard piece. I used an airbrush tool to create the color of the Blazing Sun. The right image is a Sun & Moon together. I made the moon a crescent shape with the sun being it's normal shape. Markers were used to color the sun and moon while the background was made with water color. The left part was colored to mimic the moon's color behind the sun with the right side colored to mimic the sun's color behind the moon.

Contrast: On the left, it goes black, white, black with the right going white, black, and white. Repetition: An image repeated again and again.
T-Shirt Design
This is the finished product of a T-Shirt Design that my wonderful assistant Jerrica Temple and I created. The image is of a close up face of Death, one of the four horseman of the Apocalypse, from Darksiders 2. I started by taking the original image and placing it in Adobe Illustrator then using the tools of the program traced all the lines and colored in all the areas. Afterwards, two screens was made that had different sections of the image that had to be colored with a type of ink onto a blank paper. Next the imaged paper went through a heated conveyer that turned the ink into plastic. After all that the final step is to print the image onto a plane T-shirt that has me putting the shirt that's in the image to the right on printing device, putting the image on the shirt backwards, pressing a heated plate on the image to the shirt for ten seconds and then let it cool off for a few minutes then peal the paper off. Presto! My very own design T-Shirt.
Breaking Back Poster
This is my finished Breaking Back poster project. Breaking Back is an event where people from all around gather to show and introduce new dance moves to the community. This event can be seen at the City Opera House.
Cherry Festival Poster
This is my Cherry Festival Poster. The National
Cherry Festival is
a festival in Traverse
City, Michigan.
The Original National Cherry Festival began in 1925 as the Blessing
of the Blossoms Festival. This Festival was originally an event held
in early May to attract tourists to Northern Michigan to view the
booming cherry blossoms. In 1931 the Michigan Legislature renamed the
festival the National Cherry Festival, and moved the event to the
summer. The
Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula restarted this tradition in 2004 by
hosting the Blossom Days Festival. The festival is a two-day event
with a non-denominational ceremony taking place to bless the cherry
and grape blossoms for the coming growing season. The 2011 Blossom
days event took place on May 14 and 15 and the Blessing of the
Blossoms was performed by Bishop Bernard Hedba and took place
at Chateau
Chantal. Founded
in 1925, the mission of the National Cherry Festival is to celebrate
& promote cherries. It also serves to promote tourism and
community involvement, and to enhance the economic, entertainment,
and cultural interests of the Grand Traverse region.
Every
year more than 500,000 attendees enjoy the National Cherry Festival,
which is now in its 86th year. Families can enjoy many kinds of
activities from cherry pit spitting and pie eating contests, to the
Grand Royale Parade in which the newly crowned Cherry Queen greets
the crowds. There is also a Junior Royale parade for children and a
Festival Airshow, including periodic visits from the Blue
Angels.
Originally held in mid- to late July to coincide with the cherry harvest, the Festival was moved to early July to take advantage of the July 4th holiday.
On July 25, 1987, Cherry Festival participants earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for baking the world's largest cherry pie. The pie was 17 ft 6 in (5.33 m) in diameter, weighing 28,350 pounds. This replaced the pie baked nine years earlier in Charlevoix, Michigan. This record was held until July 14, 1990, when a pie weighing 37,740 lb 10 oz (17,118.9 kg), 20 feet (6.1 m) in diameter was baked and eaten by approximately 1500 people in Oliver, British Columbia.
I started with the side borders and colored them with yellow chalk pastel. The background was made with yellow-green water colors. The text and symbols were done on Illustrator. And finally the Cherry was last to be done on this poster and was colored with chalk pastel.

Golf Outing Poster
This was my project for the 19th Annual Scholarship Golf Outing. The whole poster was made out on Illustrator using the pen and reshape tool. I started with the golf club, the big tree was second, the bush's were third, the clouds and sun were fourth, the ground with the golf ball and pole were the last ones. I then individually colored in each area, brought in the TBA CTC (which sponsors the outing) logo along with the text.
Type Cloud: Superheroes
This is my Type project called a Type Cloud in which you had to make a cloud out of words. My topic was superheroes and the words were both representations of superheroes and different superheroes names. I formed them all in the shape of an S for Superman.
Type Face: Iron Man
This is my Type project called a Type Face in which you had to make either an object or face and make it out of words. Mine is of the Iron Man helmet and how I did this was I first got an actual image of the helmet and used to pen tool make the individual shapes of the helmet and made the words based around the shapes. The words I made are quotes from the Iron Man films.
Mother's Day
This is my Mother's Day gift that I made to my mom. I first drew the picture on paper, then scanned it on to the computer and colored it in Illustrator. In the picture is lush green grass, a bird, a flower, rainbow, sun, butterfly, and at the top a big heart to represent my love for my mother.
